What is DID

Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) is a mental health condition where a person has two or more distinct identities or "alters" that take turns controlling their behavior. These alters may have their own personalities, memories, and ways of interacting with the world. DID often develops as a response to severe trauma, acting as a coping mechanism for the mind to handle overwhelming experiences. It's important to recognize that DID is a real and complex condition, and those with it are managing their alters while living their everyday lives, facing unique challenges.
